The game of life rules of play

She has said to me often, "Tell people about the woman who came to you with eight dollars and a hunch. There is always plenty on man's pathway; but it can only be brought into manifestation through desire, faith or the spoken word.

Jesus Christ brought out clearly that man must make the first move. Every desire, uttered or unexpressed, is a demand. We are often startled by having a wish suddenly fulfilled. Easter came, and with it a beautiful rose-tree. I thanked my friend the following day, and told her it was just what I had wanted. The man had mixed the order, and sent me a rose-tree simply because I had started the law in action, and I had to have a rose-tree. Nothing stands between man and his highest ideals and every desire of his heart, but doubt and fear.

When man can "wish without worrying," every desire will be instantly fulfilled. I will explain more fully in a following chapter the scientific reason for this and how fear must be erased from the consciousness. Jesus Christ said: "Why are ye fearful, oh ye of little faith? So we can see we must substitute faith for fear, for fear is only inverted faith; it is faith in evil instead of good.

The object of the game of life is to see clearly one's good and to obliterate all mental pictures of evil. This must be done by impressing the subconscious mind with a realization of good. A very brilliant man, who has attained great success, told me he had suddenly erased all fear from his consciousness by reading a sign which hung in a room.

In the following chapter I will deal with the different methods of impressing the subconscious mind. It is man's faithful servant but one must be careful to give it the right orders.

Every thought, every word is impressed upon it and carried out in amazing detail. It is like a singer making a record on the sensitive disc of the phonographic plate. Place the remaining tiles near the edge of the gameboard to form a draw pile. At the beginning of any of your turns you may buy one Long-Term Investment card.

It's your choice which one you pick. Choose one player to be the banker. This player is in charge of all money paid to and from the bank as well as issuing bank loans and handing out pay raises. The banker separates the Bank Loans, Pay Raises and money by denomination and places each into the slots in the Banker's Tray.

Carefully twist the pink and blue pegs off their plastic runners. Discard the runners. Put the pegs in a pile near the edge of the gameboard. Choose a car and fit a people peg into the driver's seat don't forget to buckle up! All players do the same. Place any extra cars back in the box. All players spin the spinner. The player with the highest spin takes the first turn. Play then continues clockwise. On your turn, spin the spinner. If the spinner arm stops between numbers, spin again.

Then move your car the number of spaces spun. Always move your car forward, in the direction of the arrows. Just like in real life, you can't go back in time! If you land on an occupied space, move ahead to the next open space. Now, follow the space directions. This ends your turn. Your first turn is an exception.

On your first turn, decide to either Start a Career or to Start College. College offers more career and salary options, but it takes time - and it puts you in debt! Draw a Career Card: Have another player fan out the Career card deck facedown, while you randomly draw one card.

The card will list your career, salary, salary maximum and taxes due. Note: You may not choose a College Career card. These are reserved for college graduates only. Those that have chosen Countryside Acres receive one more Life Tile and all their Life Tiles are safe from other players taking them.

After all players have retired, all players at Millionaire Estates count their money. The richest player takes the four Life Tiles at Millionaire Estates. The official Life rules mention that in case of a tie for richest player, the tying players split the pile taking 2 tiles each. All players turn their Life Tiles message-side-up and count up the dollar amounts add this total to all the remaining money you have in front of you.

The player with the most money wins! Please keep in mind that the official Life rules and instructions could be different depending on the game version you have. The rules below are some of the exact directions that came in the original packaging.
