OK, I am still stumped. I need help. I read that it is impossible to convert an old pst ansi file to the new unicode Personal Folder. Microsoft does not have anything designed for users to be able to convert and use their old files in the new Outlook. Then go back to FILE and select ARCHIVE, click on the old pst profile and achrive it into the new unicode profile, set it to include subfolder and set the archive date for a day or two after the present date forceing it to archive absolutely everything in the old pst file.
Then when you go to the New Unnicode Personal Folder all of your data should be available, even hidden, subfolders and items that could not be viewed in the old because it was over the 2G limit. Well, what I found was that it gave me the old folders but they did not have contacts, e-mails or anything in those folders. When I had truncated one of the old pst files it was able to import some of the contacts and e-mails but a ton of the folders were empty or missing.
Though it quickly met the 2G limit and crashed. Now that I have upgrade to I am unable to import it or add it nor am I able to do a pstscan. Somehow this pst info is no longer available to me.
I would be happy to have some of my info back verses none. I am unable to do a truncate on the copy of the original pst file and now it is unable to go through the scanpst.
