I just created a shortcut to it on my desktop next to the complete collection icon and re-mount the file with a right-click on the shortcut. That should fix anyone's Insert CD problems. So I worked out why KC's fix works, and can recommend a shorter route for anyone. Seems to be an issue where a lot of older games crash on startup on windows 10 if they are fullscreen. I am not at all computer savvy, but I do really want to play zoo tycoon i-i. I tried the 'NOCD' file thinking maybe that is meant for that, but it doesn't open anything. Is there anything I can do?
Works fine, I haven't got any problems win 10 You have to mount the zoo iso file and then the marina file which contain both expansions. My game starts fine. However, crashes after 5 min of gameplay. I started by doing what everyone else in the comments said to do: mount the game via daemon tools and install it. The problem was that clicking on the game did not result in anything.
I watched a youtube video which told me to run the game in Windows XP compatibility mode. Same result. I saw a suggestion somewhere to rename the zoo. This caused the loading screen to pop up and then disappear. In a last ditch effort, I tried copy-and-pasting the contents of zoo. I don't know why, but it did. Not that these files are found inside the Zoo Tycoon folder of your program files.

Zoo Tycoon 2: African Adventure v1. The training minigame takes place in a training area, inside the animal's tank. The player uses a "training wand" to follow a tracer along a form which differs with the trick that is being taught.
The training increases the animal's skill in that particular trick, as the animal becomes more skilled the training becomes more difficult. The difficulty of the training is increased by the form becoming narrower, the tracer moving more quickly and the addition of such obstacles as the player needing to press an arrow key or click the mouse at a certain point.
The shows take place in a tank adjacent to the animal's regular tank, accessible through a tank portal. The player choreographs the show by adding trick into the acts of the show. Tricks by different animals in the same act as each other takes place at roughly the same time.
Animals which can perform in shows must be trained first, either by the player playing minigames, or by hiring a trainer. Players are also able to swim with certain animals, by "riding" on them. Animals can use either a tank or regular exhibit water.
